Affiliated Researchers

As an Affiliated Researcher at Turaath Tech, you will spearhead interdisciplinary research projects focused on cultural heritage, history, and the dynamics of illicit trafficking, especially within the EU and MENA regions. Initially structured as a six-month fellowship, this role provides intensive engagement within our research collective, with the potential to transition into a permanent paid affiliation based on project strength and alignment.

Responsibilities

Conduct archival and historical research on MENA heritage, illicit antiquities, or policy frameworks

Collect and analyse data, perform heritage risk assessments, and contribute to digital tools or case studies

Collaborate on policy briefs, conference presentations, and public-facing outputs

Support mentorship of junior researchers and engage in knowledge exchange with European and MENA partners

Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD (or near completion) in History, Archaeology, Cultural Heritage, Middle East Studies, or related fields

Demonstrated research experience, particularly in historical analysis, digital methodologies, or heritage governance

Scholarly writing skills and the ability to transform complex insights into accessible formats

Interest in interdisciplinary work at the intersection of technology, policy, and heritage protection
